Juan Cadena

Chief Executive Officer

  • Mr. Cadena is the CEO of Colombian Healthcare Properties (CHP) and was a Managing Director and co-founder of Kiruna Capital Partners (KCP)

 

  • With more than 20 years of experience as a banker, consultant and strategist in many different industries and regions, Mr. Cadena has become an expert in identifying and measuring opportunities, as well as in structuring and executing major projects.

 

  • During his professional career Mr. Cadena has participated in the execution of transactions from different nature, ranging from M&A in several countries in the Latam region to acquiring and structuring real estate transactions in the commercial and healthcare industries – overall transactions exceed US$2 billion

 

  • Previous to CHP and Kiruna, Mr. Cadena was the Strategy and BD Director of Diageo PLC.  He was also a member of the Executive Committee for Diageo Andean Region as well as a member of the Leadership Team for Latin America. During his tenure, Mr. Cadena led a special situations team in charge of M&A, led the long-term strategy definition, including the identification of high-value business opportunities and redefined the route-to-market of key areas, among other priority tasks. 

 

  • Prior to Diageo, Mr. Cadena served as Citibank’s Senior VP of the Global Consumer Banking Strategy Group and VP of the Latin American Corporate Development Group. At Citi, he assisted in different capacities ranging from leading key Latam initiatives such as the Citi-for-Cities global initiative, to heading the 3-year strategic planning process for the Latam region (budgeting more than $12 billion), and leading multi-business efforts to generate cost efficiencies across the region, with particular focus on the Central American region.

 

  • Prior to Citi, he worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Co in the Andean region and Deloitte Consulting in New York. He also served as senior advisor to BHD Group’s CEO in Santo Domingo and FOGAFIN’s (FDIC equivalent) Head in Colombia. Juan majored in Economics from Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. He holds an MBA from the University of Rochester in the United States.
